The Royal Oke to Oxford and Stratford-Upon-Avon 21st April 2018

Our second trip was to Stratford-Upon-Avon via Oxford. This was a lovely day, very different from the London charter. Once again GWR gave us a HST with Pullman facilities.

We had no technical issues with this trip, so no need to swap to another train at Exeter this time!

Having the two destinations gave the passengers choice of what they wanted to do.

The train stopped at Oxford to let the first set of passengers off, for those who wanted to visit the city of spires. The rest remained on the train, and then alighted at Stratford-Upon-Avon

The trip attracted a number of extra passengers. HST fans were able to ride the train between Oxford and Stratford, for a fee of course.

We have to also say that once again we were well supported by the GWR staff on the train who worked for free to help the charter be successful.

When you’re on the train, you don’t get to see it this way of course!
