5 years ago OkeRail ran the first special train. We met the Rail Minister at the time, and put forward our case. We got national exposure due to some hiccups at the beginning, however GWR were awesome.
The tickets sold out inside 7 days, proving that there was support for the railway. Also the passengers came from a wide geographical area.
In under 5 years the service commenced and in just over 5 years it will be hourly.
Of course the work had been done by many over many years, but it’s good to celebrate key moments. This was one.
